Concord, North Carolina wins 2001 National JBQ Festival
Last year's runners-up did themselves one better. First Assembly of Concord, North Carolina has won the 2001 Junior Bible Quiz National Championship. They won out over a record field of 68 teams at the National JBQ festival, held June 8-9 at Calvary Church in Naperville, Illinois.
Second place went to Dayton (Indiana) United Methodist Church. It's the second time in three years that a non-A/G team is the runner-up, and the best finish ever for a United Methodist team.
Jake Olson of Emmanuel Christian Center in Minneapolis was the top individual quizzer, with an adjusted total of 2,475 points.
Lisa Lyons is new National JBQ Coordinator
There's bee a change at the top in JBQ. Lisa Lyons has been named the new National Junior Bible Quiz Coordinator. She replaces Verda Rubottom, who served for the last two seasons after the position had been vacant for several years beforehand.
