2008 Georgia Steve Sundell Memorial Award

Jim Gilmer from Evangel Community Church, Snellville, has been named the 2008 recipient of the Steve Sundell Memorial Award given by the Georgia District. Jim has been involved with Bible Quiz for over thirty years. He has helped his son Mark in a number of capacities. He is a tireless worker who does whatever needs to be done to make quizzing happen. Jim loves kids and works with them to bring out their best. He sets up tables. He cooks lunches. He cleans rooms. He sees things that need doing and just does them so that everyone else can have a smooth time quizzing. He never asks for recognition or promotes himself. Jim Gilmer is the epitome of the award's namesake.

The Steve Sundell Memorial Award was instituted to honor the memory of the late Steve Sundell. Steve was from Calvary Assembly of God in Dunwoody. He was a tireless official and did much behind the scenes to encourage and help in whatever capacity was necessary. The award recognizes an adult who has given a great deal to Bible Quiz in Georgia.

Previous recipients are Fred Fortunato, Mark Gilmer, Mike Cowan, Bill and Sharon Laakkonnen, Gary Monk, Joe Arcuri and Seth Sundell.
