Dunwoody, GA wins Peach Classic December 9, 1999

by Doug Black Calvary Assembly of Dunwoody, Georgia has taken its first tournament victory under coach John Porter, as they won the Georgia District's Peach Classic, held December 11 in Griffin, Georgia. The former longtime coach of northeastern powerhouse Allison Park, Pennsylvania, has now seen his new charges from suburban Atlanta gain their second top-five tournament finish of the season. Northwood Assembly of Murrayville, Georgia finished second in the top division.

Faith Assembly of Orlando, Florida won the Silver Division, and Parkway Assembly of Macon, Georgia won top honors in the Bronze Division.

Dunwoody's Frank Fortunato, himself a transfer from Allison Park, took top individual honors with 990 points in eight rounds, edging out Murrayville's Daniel Cowan with 910 points.

After seven preliminary rounds, teams were seeded into three divisions for a single-elimination playoff. The top two teams and the top five scorers in each division are listed below. Individual scores were determined from the seven preliminary rounds and the first playoff round (eight total rounds).
